Well, I’ve thought about it for awhile and I think I’m going to clean out some things I have laying around that I don’t use.  Turns out that I don’t use my Martin Backpacker much.  When I go camping I can take my full size acoustic so why bother with the Martin which is cool but just have that full sound.

I’m thinking it’ll be up on Ebay before the week is out.  I wonder if I should play it a little and record it on video to give people a sense for what it sounds like.  I have a Washburn 12 string that I don’t play either but I don’t have a clue how to ship something like that.  It has a funky machine head on it that probably should be fixed first.

Hey, here’s a thought!  I can also put that You Tube video up in the auction that shows it being played during that Christmas song  – “I wish it was Christmas Today” with Jimmy Falon and Horatio Sanz.

Here’s a demonstration of the Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus effect pedal. Get yours HERE

In our continuing series of stomp pedal demonstration videos, here’s the Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo video. Get it HERE

I was thinking of doing some videos which give you a chance to listen to some of the various Danelectro stomp pedals.  After finding a couple of them out there on You Tube, I’m thinking that maybe I’ll just post those here and put my energy into something else.  Why reinvent the wheel?  This guy does a pretty decent job and lets you hear how the various settings affect the output.  I think for the time being, I’ll just post his demonstrations and put that project on hold.  If for some reason he pulls them, I’ll put up my own.

So anyhoo, here’s the Cool Cat Fuzz demo. Get yours HERE

Check out this Danelectro Vibe pedal demonstration video.  Nice sound with this thing.  Get yours HERE.

Ok, I made the plunge.  I’ve been hankerin’ to get me a new axe for the last few months.  I’ve been going into stores and playing every guitar I saw.  I’ve been watching for deals and checking Craig’s List daily to see who might be willing to part with that special guitar.  Well, today, I said, “enough is enough” and bought myself a Fender Highway One Telecaster.  Awesome tone and an awsome look that’ll only improve as I use it.  It has a thin finish that’s designed to wear easily so it should get that broken in look real soon.   Here’s the specs…

  • Alder body (Satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish)
  • Maple modern C-shaped neck (Satin polyurethane finish)
  • 9.5″ fretboard radius
  • 22 jumbo frets
  • ’70s styling
  • Greasebucket tone circuit
  • Upgraded hot alnico 3 single-coil pickups voiced for more modern distortion-friendly tones
  • When I get a few more miles on it I’ll come back to write a more thorough review.  At this point I’m still breaking her in.

Check out this loop pedal from Boss.  I picked up one of these the other day.  Haven’t really had a lot of time yet to play with it yet but my time will come soon and I’ll put up a couple of videos when I get used to it.  Until then, check it out…
